The Last Post

This week is the start of a new job as I've changed jobs within Royal Mail. After almost 15 years as a postie (give or take a few months at Severn Trent Water), I am going to be working nights.

As much as I love being a postman, the job is changing and alas it is not for the better. Sadly being a postman is no longer about providing a public service but all about cost, budgets as we go backwards in working conditions. Rather than moan, I've decided to try something new - this time I am not leaving Royal Mail (I've made that mistake once before!).

Working nights will take a bit of getting used too, but I prefer the anti-social hours. The thought of working 8am until 4pm was just a bit too 'normal', so a midnight until 10am shift should be more 'fun'. I'm just not sure when I'll be fitting the sleep in!
